Crazy Story

I was just reading this story about a woman whose husband had a heart attack and collapsed on top of her, trapping them both in the house for several days before the mailman decided to check on them. The husband was obviously dead, but the wife survived the ordeal, only to die a month later. I really hope this doesn't happen to anyone else. Can you imagine living under your dead husband for 4 days? Dealing with his death, while trapped under him? It must have been awful to say the least.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to out-live my husband. He is not very nice to his body most of the time, and I come from a long line of women who live extremely long lives. Also, I'm pretty healthy to start with. I might be considered "obese" but I'll bet $5 my cholesterol is lower than yours, sans meds.

No Such Luck.

I went to work today with the plan of only drinking protein shakes all day instead of eating. I've been feeling bloated and ate way too much all weekend so I needed to detox a bit. Well, I did okay until about 1030 when our SIU rep arrived with fresh bagels from STL Bread co (people call it Panera down here) and it's not everyday that we get to eat those things. Donuts I can turn down, but not asiago bagels. So I had one of those. Then we had the faculty/staff End-of-Semester lunch, so I had a turkey hot dog (at least it was turkey!) and some potato salad and half a piece of cake.

I'll try again tomorrow.

new gadgets

I just got a new phone this weekend (the enV) and I looked online this morning to see that for $20 more I could get an enV2, which looks to be much thinner, with the same cool features. I might just upgrade.

We're also considering buying a new car and getting rid of hubby's gas-guzzling truck. Does anyone own a Camry that can attest to the gas mileage? It says 26-34 hwy and I'm just curious if that is accurate. I heard that it really gets better than 34, but as a marketing tactic to sell more hybrids, they took down the mileage on the regular car so the hybrid mileage seemed that much better.

Kate is getting married!

My good friend Kate is getting married this weekend - It should be interesting because I don't really know many of her friends. We usually only hang out with Denise and Melanie, who will both be there, but Denise is a bridesmaid and Mel has another wedding to go to that day in addition to Kate's. But at least Michael will be there to entertain me.

similar to this at tiana's wedding.

A picture per day week...

Me and Lynzi riding in Uncle T's truck when we babysat her a few weeks ago. She's really growing up into a little person who can walk and talk on her own.

Bush League.

I'm still waiting for that Bush money to be deposited in my account so I can pay off our credit card bill.

Are you planning on spending that money on debt? on stuff? or just saving it?

My student worker is a little pregnant.

I was trying to feel the little boy kick, but I don't think he likes me yet.
